Description:

Xobaline (pronounced Zo-buh-lean) contains an ideal 1:4 ratio of the metabolically active form of vitamin B12, plus a highly bioavailable form of folate known as L-methylfolate (5-MTHF). We swapped out the folic acid in Xobaline for 5-MTHF because not only is 5-MTHF more readily available to the body than folic acid, but also because a sizeable percentage of the population (50% and growing) have a genetic defect called MTHFR gene polymorphism, which decreases-to-prevents the conversion of folic acid into its active MTHF form. Using straight 5-MTHF in Xobaline eliminates that problem.

This dual nutrient combination offers a significant advantage over "B12 only" and “B12/folic acid” formulas, especially in regards to red blood cell production and the manufacturing/resynthesis of RNA, both crucial components for increased aerobic capacity and muscle repair/building.

RNA - An endurance essential

RNA is a long chain nucleic acid composed of linked nucleotides, a polynucleotide, which is the building block basis for all living tissue cellular reproduction. Science suggests that improving RNA "status" within the body results in, among other benefits, gains in both lean muscle mass and mitochondrial re-synthesis. When this occurs, the athlete may expect increases in energy capacity, metabolism, and enhanced recovery after exercise. Both folate and vitamin B12 have key roles and work synergistically in the manufacturing and resynthesis of RNA.

Folate & vitamin B12 - Necessary and inseparable nutrient partners

Folate plays an important role in the lowering of homocysteine, elevated levels of which are believed to be a primary culprit in various cardiovascular diseases as some research suggests. Lastly, folate is a required substance for the synthesis of heme, the iron-carrying component of the hemoglobin in red blood cells.

Vitamin B12 is an plays an equally important role in the reduction of elevated homocysteine levels. B12 improves the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats, which of course plays a role in energy production. B12 is known to alleviate the tiredness associated with fatigue and is required for the formation of red blood cells.

In order for these two vitamins to provide maximal benefits they need to be taken together. Dr. Bill Misner writes, "Folate and B12 must be together for gains hoped for in RBC [Red Blood Cells], homocysteine methylation, cardiovascular effects, and downstream DNA strand synthesis." Dr. Misner continues, “There are virtually hundreds of papers demonstrating the health benefits from vitamin B12 and folate in the cells, digestion, vision, hair, skin, immune system musculoskeletal system, nervous system, oral health, and sexual system. It is a supplement I enthusiastically recommend and take every day.”

With the newly formulated Xobaline formula you get highly bioavailable forms of both vitamin B12 and folate in an ideal 1:4 ratio.

Benefits:

As part of a well-balanced diet that is low in saturated fat and cholesterol, Folate, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 may reduce the risk of vascular disease.
