Product Detail & Benefits

Description:

HEED is a definite "step up" and welcome departure from the seemingly endless number of powdered sports drinks available to endurance athletes. One of the primary flaws inherent with most sports drinks is their reliance on simple sugars as the carbohydrate source. The use of simple sugars such as glucose, sucrose, and fructose not only severely limits the amount of calories that can be efficiently digested and utilized for energy, but also may cause wild fluctuations in energy levels. HEED's complex carbohydrate formula, on the other hand, allows you to obtain the ideal amount of calories you need, providing a more consistent and longer lasting energy supply, and without putting you at risk for the stomach distress commonly caused by simple sugars.

HEED also provides a complete, easily assimilated electrolyte profile—not just salt and potassium, which comprise the electrolyte "profile" of most other drinks. For many athletes under normal conditions, one or two scoops of HEED will completely fulfill electrolyte requirements (in addition to caloric requirements). For other athletes, the electrolyte profile in HEED will provide an excellent base from which additional Endurolytes can be added to completely satisfy electrolyte needs. With added chromium polynicotinate for maintaining stable blood glucose levels and l-carnosine for buffering lactic acid, HEED is truly in a class of its own in the world of powdered sports drinks.

So whenever a sports drink is your preferred choice, "heed" your body's desire for a superior fuel. HEED is the only choice you need to make!

Benefits:

HEED sports drink comes in the following delicious flavors: Strawberry, Melon, Mandarin Orange, Lemon-Lime, and Unflavored.

Sports drinks have been around a long time, and for many athletes they're more convenient than energy gels. Unfortunately, most sport drinks are not much more than artificially colored sugar water that does little to aid your performance and even less for your health. That is why we developed HEED as a healthy alternative; HEED's subtle tasting, complex carbohydrate formula goes down easily and supplies you with consistent, long-lasting energy and the electrolytes you need to keep pushing the pace. No citric acid is added to the formula, so it will not burn your throat or stomach. HEED's sweeteners, stevia and xylitol, are actually good for you; xylitol is especially beneficial for helping promote oral health. The full-spectrum, amino acid-chelated electrolyte profile helps satisfy your body's mineral requirements. L-carnosine and chromium polynicotinate help to buffer lactic acid and support stable blood glucose levels. If you prefer sports drinks over energy gels or like to use a combination of the two, try HEED and find out what a sports drink done right can do for your athletic performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completed Hottest LA Marathon ever!! I completed the 30TH Anniversary LA Marathon on Sunday, March 15, 2015. It was the hottest LA Marathon in history with the temperature reaching over 91 degrees. Over 36 people including elite Olympic Qualifying runners were taken to the Hospital due to heat related illnesses and it was my first Marathon. I am a 45 year old woman who trained on Hammer Nutrition Products. I did all of my training using the various products I am posting this email to every day. Because of the heat I prepared a formula of Perpetuem, Gels, and Heed and carried them in bottles on a hydration belt. For energy and extra electrolyte protection I took a combination of Endurolyte Extreme, Race Caps Supreme, Anti-Fatigue Caps every eight miles. The course was also quite hilly and there was a killer hill at mile twenty. After each big hill I took one Energy Surge Tablet under the tongue and my legs responded. Because of the heat the Marathon committee added extra water stations which I took advantage of at every opportunity. I also carried a water bottle in my hand so that I could skip stations when they were too crowded. THESE PRODUCTS WORK!! I was able to continue my pace despite the challenging course (which I had never run before) and the hot weather. While everyone around me was cramping, suffering, and melting in the heat I was able to stay strong and finish in under five hours (the average time for first timers was over six hours). The LA Marathon committee and volunteers were giving people other heavily advertised products that didn’t seem help much. Many of the people who were taken to the hospital were using these products to no avail. I felt sorry for them and powerless to help them. I don’t blame the Marathon committee or any of the volunteers. They believe as many do that these sucrose/salt based products work because of the millions they spend on advertising. Unfortunately ignorance cannot be bliss when people’s lives and health are at stake. I am writing a letter to the LA Marathon committee to try to get them off the over hyped, underperforming endurance products and using Hammer. GO LONGER, GO HARDER, GO HAMMER!!!! Love, Jenny R. Burbank CA p.s. I also took Recoverite and Tissue Rejuvenator during my recovery and my leg soreness was literally gone in 48 hours. LOVE THESE PRODUCTS!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like they say it works... What a concept!! Myself and my boys have been using the Heed product now for several years... I first started my boys on the product to help them with long motocross races and hot weather... Later on, I started competitive XC mountain bike and ATV racing... For me the results have been right on, following the instructions and taking as recommended has helped me with continued energy through out an event along with quick recovery after... Thanks guys for all your help over the years and I look forward to continuing with Hammer Nutrition product's for a long time....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not tasty enough I bought this for my grandson who is on his high school soccer team. He was complaining about muscle cramps and so after some research bought the Heed product. I am mixing one scoop in 16 oz of purified water along with another product which adds more flavor. My grandson complained that the Heed alone (even with 3 scoops in 16 oz) was not tasty enough for him. With the combination, he is now drinking it and has not complained about having muscle cramps. I would prefer to get a safer Hammer product to increase the taste. Please give me suggestions on that.
