Protein without Peer: Hammer Whey

BY STEVE BORN

To get the full value out of your training, you must put the highest quality fuel into your body. Nutrition comprises everything one puts into their systems before, during, and after exertion. Hammer Nutrition's comprehensive product line is designed to support you every step of the way. One of those ways is through our premium-quality, 100% whey protein isolate product, Hammer Whey.

Whey is left over when milk is processed during cheese production. It contains everything that is soluble from milk after the pH is dropped during the process. Whey is the most easily assimilated of all proteins and is packed with a tremendous amount of naturally occurring branched chain amino acids (BCAAs).

Whey protein is a collection of globular proteins that are isolated from the whey and most commonly seen in two forms: whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. Whey concentrate is typically 30%-75% protein by weight. Whey isolate is processed to remove fat and lactose, while maintaining the integrity of the amino acid content, and is over 90% protein by weight.

In addition to the beneficial amounts of pure protein, Hammer Whey also contains high amounts of other recovery-specific amino acids and is glutamine-fortified for immune system support. Our whey is also free from unwanted hormones and has the highest Biological Value (BV) of any protein source: 154!

Having ample amounts of protein in one's diet (including Hammer Whey, as well as the whey protein isolate supplied in Recoverite) ensures that the body:

  • Has the amino acids it needs for muscle tissue repair, allowing you to start your next workout or race with strong, ready-to-go-to-work muscles.
  • Has maximum amounts of glycogen in the muscles, ready to use when exercise begins. Carbohydrates plus protein, versus carbohydrates alone, is a superior way to maximize muscle glycogen stores.

After exercise, whey isolate is the best protein you can consume and is without peer. For example, chocolate milk, a popular recovery drink, is 80% casein protein. Based solely on bioavailability, casein is a poor protein source for recovery, with a mediocre BV of 77. Hammer Whey and Recoverite provides athletes a greater concentration of the all-importance branched chain amino acids while also containing 36% more quality carbohydrates and zero fat.

Hammer Whey fulfills your post-workout protein requirements, and helps you reach your daily protein requirements, without any added sugars, fillers, artificial sweeteners, or other questionable nutrients. To reach your peak performance, reach for Hammer Whey!

Note: Vegan? Hammer's Vegan protein is made with ancient grains, providing a complete protein profile. Lactose-intolerant? The major allergens in milk are the caseins. Cow's milk is 20% whey and 80% casein. Most consumers who identify as lactose-intolerant are able to digest the pure, whey protein isolate in Hammer products.
