Omega-3’s Highly Effective Headache Relief
BY STEVE BORN
Over 12,000 men and women participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) of 1999-2004. A cross-sectional study used data from NHANES “to assess whether dietary intake of long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) is associated with lower prevalence of headache in the U.S.” Participants provided data regarding severe headaches or migraines they experienced over a 3-month period. Researchers examined the participants’ 24-hour dietary intake of the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
The study’s conclusion: "Higher dietary intakes of EPA and DHA were associated with lower prevalence of headache supporting the hypothesis that omega-3 PUFAs may prevent or reduce headache."
Plant foods such as walnuts, flax seeds, and others contain alpha linolenic acid (ALA), which the body can convert to EPA and DHA. However, conversion ability in humans is extremely low: only 8%- 20% of ALA is converted to EPA, and a mere 1%-9% of dietary ALA is converted to DHA. That’s why fish oil—which is already in “body ready, no conversion needed” EPA and DHA—is the ideal way to boost your intake of these two essential omega-3 fatty acids.
EndurOmega is the convenient way to get the omega-3’s that you need for many health benefits, including the alleviation—perhaps even prevention—of headaches. EndurOmega contains molecularly distilled and deodorized fish oil, free from all fishy odor and taste, and tested via third-party independent laboratories to guarantee a potent, pure and safe product.
