Product Detail & Benefits

Description:

Never before has such a complete and effective endurance drink been available to athletes.

Perpetuem is a result of several years of research and thousands of miles of testing in a variety of endurance disciplines. Since its introduction in 2003, Perpetuem has allowed athletes to conquer the most extreme workouts and races with complete confidence! Perpetuem represents the ultimate, never-before-available link to satisfying the body's fueling requirements no matter how long or difficult your exercise session or race.

  • Carbohydrates - As with all Hammer Nutrition fuels, we never add simple sugars to the carbohydrate profile. Perpetuem contains a specific maltodextrin, which provides nearly 87% of its caloric composition in long chain carbohydrates.
  • Protein - A calcium-enhanced soy protein isolate known as "XT" makes up nearly 10% of the caloric profile of Perpetuem, the same percentage that is cannibalized from muscle tissue during long, slow endurance workouts. This particular soy protein contains a very high amount of intact, cardiovascular-enhancing isoflavones.
  • Fat - A de-oiled "super lecithin" (extracted from the soybean) is ideal for consistently and reliably fueling the body and maximizing energy production from stored fatty acids.
  • Sweetener - Perpetuem contains Energy Smart®, the same healthy sweetener in Hammer Gel.

Benefits:

Perpetuem is available in the following delicious flavors: Caffé Latte, Strawberry-Vanilla, Orange-Vanilla, and Unflavored.

Welcome to the world's finest endurance fuel specifically formulated for multi-hour to multi-day events. No matter how long or extreme your exercise regimen or races may be, Perpetuem is always up to the task. Thoroughly tested and proven in the world's toughest endurance events, Perpetuem's unique formula—complex carbohydrates, GMO-free soy protein, healthy fats, and key auxiliary nutrients such as sodium phosphate—is unsurpassed for maintaining optimal athletic performance for as long as you want. Perpetuem provides consistent, reliable energy, maximizes stored fat utilization, and buffers lactic acid to prevent muscle fatigue. On the road or trail, Perpetuem is the breakfast, lunch, and dinner of champions!

Extra Benefits:
Carnosine, one of the ingredients in Perpetuem (it's also in HEED, Sustained Energy, and Recoverite), is both a performance aid (a superb lactic acid buffer) and a premium general health nutrient (multiple free-radical scavenging and anti-glycation antioxidant).

Glutamic Acid, or its ionic form, Glutamate, and Glutamine are under-rated "good" dietary amino acids found in most high protein foods. While neither is regarded as essential, each plays important metabolic roles during exercise demand.

Fructose Sweeteners Negatively Impact Blood Sugar and Lipid Metabolism Inhibiting Energy Production

Fructose consumption alters how our body metabolizes energy from blood glucose and lipids resulting in serious health disorders and reducing the rate of energy production. Researchers (1) named several unhealthy conditions associated with excess unnatural fructose processed for its' sweetening property. Total fructose consumption in the USA jumped +26%, (from 64g to 81 g/day between 1970-1997).

Caloric Intake - Proper amounts during endurance exercise

Endurance and ultra-endurance athletes require all three forms of fuel the human body uses for energy: carbohydrate, protein, and fat. A major factor for optimal performance is using the right fuel, at the right time, in the right amount. Like every aspect of success in endurance events, proper nutrition requires planning, practice, and training to reap the benefits on race day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as Advertised Perpetuem works great. It gets me passed that hurdle on my 3-4 hour rides.
Date published: 2014-06-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent taste Perpetuem has a great taste and does not sit heavy on my stomach. The Longer the race the less my stomach can tolerate but perpetuem keeps me going.
Date published: 2014-06-26
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perpetuem works it just doesn't taste that great. I use this product on long rides and add via coffee to it to help with the taste. It's better as a paste.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trusted! Ive used this product for years now. I can always feel a difference in my muscles on long days. The taste does leave a lot to be desired though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I panic if I don't have it! I was panicked because I ran out of my Perpetuem and didn't think I'd get my order in time for my first Century this season...but I did. I have come to rely on Perpetuem for my 60 mile plus days and as expected, it fueled me all day along with my Hammer Gels and Electrolytes. I did my best Century time yet, 5 hours flat on a rainy, poorly marked course, I even made a wrong turn! I considered not doing the Century if I didn't have my Perpetuem because it makes that big of a difference in my endurance events. Thanks Hammer for helping us all kick butt and do our best! I will never run out of Perpetuem again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect fuel! ive been using this for over a year and its the best for my needs. i run 20-40 miles in the sierra nevada mountains on my saturdays, over 10,000ft mountains and creek crossings, in snow, heat and rain, and hammer products always go in my running pack. especially the Perpetuem! keeps me fueled all day long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff works great. I always bonked in marathons and 50ks before discovering Perpetuem. I ran 2 50ks last year drinking the recommended mix for my weight and time and didn't bonk, in fact I was running well at the end of both of them. This past Sunday I did my longest bike ride in 50 years, a hilly 71 miler and felt super strong all the way through through the finish. I highly recommend Perpetuem for fuel during 4 plus hour endurance events.
Date published: 2014-06-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me! For Endurance Mtn. bike rides I make 3 hour bottles of Perpetuem. I mix half unflavored and half Caffe Latte so I get a little caffeine kick, but not enough to over rev or get a caffine headache. I take a sip every 15 minutes after the first hour into the event so I never get calorie deficient...thats a hard place to come back from when in the saddle for 8 or 9 hours. Follow this up with one Enduralyte Extreme every hour and Im good to go until I get to the end.....then it's Recoverite time! Thanks Hammer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for taking in liquid calories This is my fuel of choice for long bike rides. Easy to digest, never ever causes stomach issues. A great choice for those choosing to carry liquid fuel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caffe perpetuem and peanut butter gel Bought both and mix them together. Kind of a texture and don't like gels. Taste ok and no stomach distress. Great in heat of Hawaii and rain in Washington state. Use it to ride my bike 50 - 100 miles.
Date published: 2014-05-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome!!!!! works extremely well don't feel as dead at the end of really long rides taste is ok
Date published: 2014-05-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My fuel of choice. I was having issues with long rides, I was topping out at or near 45 miles and then the next 10 were painful and full of fail. I read the Endurance Athlete's Guide to Success and realized I was not fueling properly. Since I started using Perpetum, I have realized increase in power, speed, endurance. It is my fuel of choice, period. I have recommended this product to multiple people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long course fuel I use Perpetuem as my fuel for long training rides and IM races. I mix it with water in 3-hour bottles. The orange-vanilla flavor is my favorite.
Date published: 2014-05-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same great results - nice flavor I have been using Perpetuem for about six years and usually get the orange-vanilla flavor as it is mild and easy to take even if a bit warm. I usually prepare in multi-hour bottles or use as a paste inside a Hammer flask on the bike. After trying the strawberry-vanilla flavor in Perpetuem Solids on a long run, I switched across the board. A great product, easy to digest and easy to get down even after hours on end of Z3 level heart rate. Just finished the St. George Ironman 70.3 with energy left over and I'm getting ready for the 25th Anniversary Full Vineman in July. Hammer On!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Golden Key for Multi-hour, Multi-day Rides My wife and I are experienced, competitive age group triathletes, cyclists and runners. We enjoy multi-day cyclosportives and Gran Fondos in the mountains. We have always been physically fit and well-trained for events in which we took place. But we always struggled to enjoy the multi-hour, multi-day events. Until we researched it more deeply, we always felt we needed more training. WRONG. It took us years to understand that these events are about "feeding a high heart rate." We used to eat whatever was available at the aid stations. GI discomfort, energy depletion, physical exhaustion, cramping, psychological distress and "toughing it out" to the finish were the result. Then we found the Hammer education materials, read them carefully, tested them and put them into action. On mountain rides of 5-8 hours, we now use Perpetuem and Endurolytes exclusively. At 5'11" and 155lbs racing weight, I mix 5 scoops of Perpetuem with water into a 3 hour feed bottle providing 225 cals/hr of nutrition. At 5'5" and 127lbs racing weight, we mix 4 scoops into the same for my wife, providing her 180 cals/hr. We ensure that we each sip from the feed bottle every twenty minutes such that 1/3 of the bottle is used every hour. We carry a ziplock bag with pre-measured Perpetuem to remix a second feed bottle at an aid station half or three-quarters the way through the ride. On top of this, we each drink 500-750ml of pure water for hydration every hour depending on heat and humidity, plus one Endurolyte for full spectrum electrolyte and mineral replacement every hour for myself and one every 1.5 hours for my wife. We eat no other food on these rides except an occasional HEED gel in the latter hours if we are feeling hungry. This approach has made a MASSIVE difference in our success at these events. Our energy is stable, there is no GI distress, we've total eliminated cramping, not to mention wasted time, variability and doubt about what to eat at feed stations, plus our recovery for the next day's ride is immeasurably superior. THANK YOU Hammer for making these rides a joy for us rather than a grudge match between physical discomfort and the will to finish. People may not believe it until they try it themselves, but if you fuel the furnace with the right fuel in the right amounts at the right time, it makes life SO much more enjoyable and successful on the multi-hour and multi-day events.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hammer products I ran my first ultra a 43 mile trail race that was tough & technical. I used Perpetuem, gel & endurolytes in a paste form and also used the Race Caps Supreme before the race and anti-fatigue caps and endurance aminos during the race. I felt awesome the whole race, no stomach issues and my recovery was remarkable. Hardly any soreness after. I love love love Hammer products. Thanks for making such great products.
Date published: 2014-05-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I use Perpetuem on my Ultra runs and it gives me a nice even engery level. Even when other foods start making me nauseous, I can still drink the Perpetuem without issue.
Date published: 2014-05-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Need I use this during the later hours of my long rides to be ready for the run which comes next. It mixes up easily and tastes good. I also tolerate it well with no stomach upset.
Date published: 2014-05-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff My biggest hangup with perpetuem has been getting tired of the taste on long and multi-day rides. One of the client advisors suggested I use plain perpetuem and flavor it with hammer gel to get the variety and intensity I wanted. I mix the equivalent of a 2 hour serving in a hammer flask, and alternate between hammer gel and perpetuem for my fueling program. I'm finishing my long training rides much stronger.
Date published: 2014-04-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really works for me I have used Perpetuem for several years but the strawberry vanilla is a new flavor to me and I really like it. Like the orange vanilla flavor it leaves no after taste & really makes a difference in the way I feel the day after extreme excercise the day before.
Date published: 2014-04-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Stuff Absolutely, hands down the best drink mix on the planet. Easy to digest, and fuels the machine!!! Notice significant improvement on my bodies ability to last while sipping on Perpetuem.
Date published: 2014-04-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me! I make two large bottles of Perpetuem and it lasts me 50 miles in warm weather or about 70 miles on a cool day. I generally don't need to eat anything until I run out. The Caffe latte tastes great!
Date published: 2014-03-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perpetuem for every ride over a hour and half been using perpetuem for several years. great for longer rides. at 68 i find that this product gives me that little edge to be able to keep up with the younger cyclists on those longer rides.
Date published: 2014-03-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I use this for my long runs which are about 3 hours and my longer bike rides which are about 3-4 hours, it has a mild flavor and sits well on the stomach. I don't seem to need as much gel when using this as it has a few more calories than the Heed and seems to fill me up a bit more.
Date published: 2014-03-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product! I wish I had found this product sooner. It has made my long rides more enjoyable and my recovery much less. An easy way to consume calories and not upset your GI system.
Date published: 2014-03-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It simply works!! As an ultra-runner in the mountains I depend on my calories to get me to the next mile and beyond. Hammer Perpetuem makes it easy to calculate my calories, mix and go. On runs of 5 hour or longer I will mix a 2 hour bottle and then carry an additional 2 hour unmixed bag of Perpetuem. I also take a 5 oz flask filled with Hammer Gel that I consume slowly.
Date published: 2014-02-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works and Tastes Great! I use my Caffe Latte Perpetuem for every ride... one hour to 5 hours, and beyond. It provides me with the calories I need and never upsets my stomach, regardless of the difficulty of the ride. My favorite thing about this flavor, especially given that I live in Arizona where it tends to get very hot, is that it tastes great cold, cool, warm and even hot!
Date published: 2014-01-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product! I cannot imagine doing a long road race without Perpetuem; 70 hard miles in the saddle requires a complete, balanced, tasty fuel, and Perpetuem is all of those things. Thank you for such an incredible product!
Date published: 2014-01-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perpetuem Strawberry Refreshing on the taste buds The Perpetuem strawberry flavor has a great taste. It is light and provides just a hint of flavor without any overpowering sweetness. I enjoy it for the long workouts. It is a staple food source during races and the pancake batter consistency makes it easy to eat and feel the benefits.
