Product Detail & Benefits

Description:

HEED is a definite "step up" and welcome departure from the seemingly endless number of powdered sports drinks available to endurance athletes. One of the primary flaws inherent with most sports drinks is their reliance on simple sugars as the carbohydrate source. The use of simple sugars such as glucose, sucrose, and fructose not only severely limits the amount of calories that can be efficiently digested and utilized for energy, but also may cause wild fluctuations in energy levels. HEED's complex carbohydrate formula, on the other hand, allows you to obtain the ideal amount of calories you need, providing a more consistent and longer lasting energy supply, and without putting you at risk for the stomach distress commonly caused by simple sugars.

HEED also provides a complete, easily assimilated electrolyte profile—not just salt and potassium, which comprise the electrolyte "profile" of most other drinks. For many athletes under normal conditions, one or two scoops of HEED will completely fulfill electrolyte requirements (in addition to caloric requirements). For other athletes, the electrolyte profile in HEED will provide an excellent base from which additional Endurolytes can be added to completely satisfy electrolyte needs. With added chromium polynicotinate for maintaining stable blood glucose levels and l-carnosine for buffering lactic acid, HEED is truly in a class of its own in the world of powdered sports drinks.

So whenever a sports drink is your preferred choice, "heed" your body's desire for a superior fuel. HEED is the only choice you need to make!

Benefits:

HEED sports drink comes in the following delicious flavors: Strawberry, Melon, Mandarin Orange, Lemon-Lime, and Unflavored.

Sports drinks have been around a long time, and for many athletes they're more convenient than energy gels. Unfortunately, most sport drinks are not much more than artificially colored sugar water that does little to aid your performance and even less for your health. That is why we developed HEED as a healthy alternative; HEED's subtle tasting, complex carbohydrate formula goes down easily and supplies you with consistent, long-lasting energy and the electrolytes you need to keep pushing the pace. No citric acid is added to the formula, so it will not burn your throat or stomach. HEED's sweeteners, stevia and xylitol, are actually good for you; xylitol is especially beneficial for helping promote oral health. The full-spectrum, amino acid-chelated electrolyte profile helps satisfy your body's mineral requirements. L-carnosine and chromium polynicotinate help to buffer lactic acid and support stable blood glucose levels. If you prefer sports drinks over energy gels or like to use a combination of the two, try HEED and find out what a sports drink done right can do for your athletic performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like they say it works... What a concept!! Myself and my boys have been using the Heed product now for several years... I first started my boys on the product to help them with long motocross races and hot weather... Later on, I started competitive XC mountain bike and ATV racing... For me the results have been right on, following the instructions and taking as recommended has helped me with continued energy through out an event along with quick recovery after... Thanks guys for all your help over the years and I look forward to continuing with Hammer Nutrition product's for a long time....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changer I'm the type of person that breaks a sweat just putting on my running shoes. So last summer when I decided I wanted to take my mild, weekly summer jogs to longer distances I experienced issues after my runs such as severe headaches and leg cramps, even if I would just run 4 miles. I tried all sorts of sports drinks and other combinations of large amounts of water and stretching, but nothing helped. It really hindered my training. I tried Heed for the first time about a month ago, and in that months time I've gone from struggling to finish 6 miles to easily completing 10. I'm well on my way to running my first half marathon and 25k this fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Standby. I've used HEED for 5+ years and couldn't recommend it more. I use it for just about every single workout (and as a triathlete, that's daily). I'm not a fan of overly sweet flavors and i find the melon flavor perfect-- it's mild, yet enjoyable. it mixes easily with water with just a few shakes and has fueled me through many races from 5k's to half ironmans and marathons. Paired with Hammer gel, i get all the nutrition i need to crush a race of any distance and feel fully fueled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product with REAL results! Prior to using Heed I used different sports drinks like gatoraid and cytomax and neither one really dude much for me. I started using Heed a few months ago and noticed I had a ton more energy while riding and didn't bonk nearly as hard. I switched back to straight water to really see if there was a difference and there definitely was! I went through 2.5 bottles instead of just 1, didn't have as much energy and when I would hit the wall it was much harder to get over it. Once switching back to Heed I am down to 1 bottle now in the summer heat and have yet to bonk or hit a wall during my rides! Awesome product! The strawberry is awesome too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HEED is Great Stuff! I started using HEED about 3 months ago after being hooked on Hammer's Perpetuem, Gel and Endurolytes. This HEED Electrolyte replacement drinks is the best of this type of fluid replacement I have ever used. It not only works great it tastes like it works. Perfect balance of the best ingredients along with the taste of the Lemon/Lime flavor or the Manderin Orange is just what I need to fulfill my Nutrition Tool Box for my Ironman 70.3 training and racing and my eventual Full Ironman # 2. I could write a story about how well the other products have worked for me in training and races but might run out of room here. Thank you HAMMER!!!! Kurt Weidner from Chapin, South Carolina.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Descent athletic drink mix, some issues This was my first Hammer drink mix so my experience is limited. Exhaustive literature is provided about when drinking this is appropriate, etc. When I went to measure my first drink for a workout, it states "1 to 2 1/2 scoops". The problem was no scoop was included! I've mixed a fair amount in even to make just 16-24 ounces of drink. I find the taste to be surprisingly bland. It's pleasant, but bland. The performance seems okay, nothing special. There definitely is no sugar "rush" like there is with many drinks on the market. I am going to try another flavor next time. And I'm still trying to figure out how much a "scoop" is!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HEED my advice. I am an ardent user of HEED. I drink it almost everyday, including race days and non-run days just to maintain my hydration levels. I love HEED in Mandarin Orange and I have ordered it several times and I will continue to order it for daily use, training runs, and pre-race hydration. It is by far the best and most well-balanced sports drink on the market. Hands down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HEED for folks with a sensitive tummy! I have had issues with my stomach for the first 10 ironmans using every sport drink out there...often times seeing rainbows on the race course. Growing tired of blowing chunks on fellow racers, I gave HEED a try. Since then I have completed 6 Ironmans and a 50 miler on HEED and have not had any stomach issues. I give HEED a 5 tummy-friendly rating.
