Product Detail & Benefits

Description:

The staples of any energy drink, bar, or gel are carbohydrates. In this regard, Hammer Gel stands alone in today's glutted market of energy products. A look at the ingredient list on the label will tell you why: we use long-chain complex carbohydrates for smooth, consistent energy release. There's only a trace of sugar, so Hammer Gel doesn't set off wild insulin spikes causing "sugar high" and "sugar crash." You won't find our products saturated with cheap, ineffective, commercial-grade sugars, which can ruin health and performance.

Hammer Gel is an easily digested, concentrated source of complex carbohydrates with four amino acids added to enhance performance and prolong energy levels during intense training and competition. Hammer Gel has a syrup-like consistency that mixes easily with water if so desired. You can drink it straight, dilute it, or use it to flavor other Hammer Nutrition fuels. Use it before, during, and after exercise.

Benefits:

Hammer Gel is available in the following delicious flavors: Apple-Cinnamon, Banana, Chocolate, Espresso, Montana Huckleberry, Orange, Peanut Butter, Raspberry, Tropical, Vanilla, and Unflavored.

Since 1995, Hammer Gel has been the benchmark of concentrated carbohydrate energy, primarily because of what it doesn't contain—Hammer Gel has no added refined, simple sugars, and no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners.

Choose either single-serving pouches or cost-effective 26-serving jugs for even, reliable energy, not the "flash and crash" of sugar-loaded products. You get only what's good for you: complex carbohydrates, natural ingredients, and real fruit. The result is a great-tasting concentrated fuel source that goes down and digests easier than other energy gels.

Hammer Gel is versatile as well; you can drink it straight, add it to your water bottle, or combine it with Sustained Energy, HEED, or Perpetuem to create a variety of tasty energy combinations for any length activity—anywhere, anytime.

Notes:

Note: Hammer Flask holds 5-6 servings. Only Espresso and Tropical flavors contain caffeine, 50 mg for Espresso and 25 mg for Tropical per serving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It WORKS! The most important factor in any athletic nutritional item is that it works. Not that it tastes good or is chic. My energy levels remain stable and my perceived apatite stays in check when using this product. The fact that my Espresso Hammer Gel works and tastes good is a major benefit. I look at it this way... if it tastes good, I'll use it, and if it works like it's supposed to, then what more can I ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Taste I have tried countless gels and even different varieties of Hammer Gel with not much luck. I have had a lot of GI problems while marathon training so I was at my last straw trying to get it figured out. When Hammer came out with the Peanut Butter flavor, I decided to try yet another gel. The Peanut Butter flavor is delicious and I love the hint of salt. It's the perfect blend. I have had NO GI problems since making the switch! Thank you Hammer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thumb Down, or thumb up? Unfortunately this Hammer Gel not only that it doesn’t work for me but rather reduces my effort output. This is what’s going on: I took the product on a few, very long bike rides. Usually I started taking it after about 60-70 miles. Minutes after I took it, it cut the entire strength from my legs. Just like there was a knife that cut across my thighs. I had no strength to pedal the bike on flat road, let alone any small uphill that came my way. In the beginning I had no idea what happened and I continue to get a couple of pouches after each other. At one point I realized that I felt better when the effects were wearing off rather than after taking the gel. Realizing this I tested the gel again with a different occasion and the answer was clean: it does not work for me. HOWEVER – I went hiking with some friends and they had serious difficulty at one point. I fed them the Gel and it was a great help to them thought the whole hike. So it does not work for me but it works for others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Source of Energey I have been onto Hammer products for close to two years. We finally got a break in the cold and snow so we could ride our bikes into work safely. When we got into work, we decided to take a nice run along the water front just to enjoy some more of the weather while it lasted. I was using Hammer Gel and Endurolytes all the way, as per the recommened dosage on the web site. Because I was keeping on top of my fueling, I was the first in on the bikes and the run. Great stuff Hammer, thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I depend on this I've been using gel for a number of years of amateur exercise. Can't imagine long runs or bike events without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Raspberry tastes great! So far, so good. This is my first purchase from Hammer, made on recommendation from friends. I was looking for a gel to use for medium-distance runs between 1-2 hours, but didn't want to use the traditional packs anymore, since I bought a water bottle with a companion gel bottle. (BTW- when the shipment arrived, I was pretty much blown away by all of the extras Hammer sent for me to try, including a water bottle, ergonomic gel bottle and plenty of gels and supplements.) My first run didn't go so well, since the temperature was below 20F and I put the gel bottle in it's water bottle companion pocket. The gel thickened so much in the cold that it was completely impossible to get through the bottle neck. Wouldn't even budge. Luckily, I was only out for 1.5 hours and not running really hard, so I didn't really need the gel anyway. Since this was my fault, I didn't let it affect my review. The second time out, I carried the hammer bottle in my hand and it kept the gel nice and warm. I found the taste enjoyable during the run and used about 2.5 servings over my 2 hour trail run (I weigh about 185lb, so it fits with Hammer's recommendations). No loss in energy throughout the run, I had no sign of cramps or other issues and I didn't get sick of the taste, so I have no complaints. I did find it just a tad sweet, so I'm going to buy another flavor so I can switch back and forth between runs for variety. So far, I like using these much more than the disposable packets I'm used to and I'll most likely continue using these unless something changes as my distances increase over spring training.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I switched to Hammer from another brand I just finished my 12th marathon yesterday. Have used another brand for the last few and thought I would try Hammer this time. It works awesome, easier to swallow and easier on the stomach. Packaging is easier to open on the run.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great impact, so-so taste Used for marathon training. Great food source. Major improvement over other gel packs that would always upset my stomach for 10-20 min after consuming. Taste decent, but not great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Taste! Great Effective Product! I use hammer gel before every workout now! This product is outstanding. The taste is great too! I take one hammer gel before each of my workouts and on my longer workouts I'll take another one or two or three... I love hammer gel! My favorite flavor is Huckleberry. Hammer Gel is a must for any type of athlete. It will make a difference and give you better results!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noquemanon Though Hammer was a sponsor, volunteers were stingy with Hammer gel packs, but fortunately I had my 5 oz bottles and electrolytes, which helped me have a great day (goal was safe n fun). However gel did thicken and almost freeze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around product Hammer gel is my staple for before and during workouts, I take one gel 15 mins before a workout, and then one every 45-60mins, it is easy to digest, and tastes good (peanut butter flavor is my favorite), and I remain feeling strong during all my workouts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tastes good and gets the job done The taste isn't as sweet as other gels I've tried which I consider to be a good thing. Using the bulk gel in a flask makes it easy to use without having to stop and deal with an individual serving packet. The flask cleans up easily using hit water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tropical Gel bottle I likHammere the lower viscosity of the Tropical compared to the Espresso; easier to squeeze out and much more palatable. Well done HammerNerds!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lives up to its billing Hammer Gel helped me as I trained for and completed my first marathon in 2013. I liked the flavors I tried (Apple-Cinnamon, Montana Huckleberry and Peanut Butter), with huckleberry being my favorite. The batch of peanut butter that I got was too thick, but the flavor was still good. For a newbie attempting a marathon, I was pleased that the gels carried me through the whole race without any stomach upsets or blood-sugar crashes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Difference! Now that I'm regularly running 1-2 hours, a coworker suggested I use this to keep from getting light headed and weak. Jelly cubes were working okay, but seemed too sweet so I wouldn't use them later in my route. On my first try with the Hammer Gel, I was feeling better within less than a mile. It wasn't too sweet and seemed to last much longer. I'm looking forward to learning how to use this earlier in my run to avoid getting weak in the first place. Thanks for this useful product!
