EMS for a tight quadratus lomborum

Has anyone had any luck with this?.. I have been struggling with a tight QL for over a year.

Hi Scott,

Given the location of this particular muscle, it is going to be very difficult to reach with EMS. Muscles that are more or less "hidden" under other muscle groups can be reached, but the problem is that the intensity must be increased to the point that it becomes uncomfortable for the muscles that are on the surface. You might try placing the pads on the lower portion of the Erector Spinae (see pad placements here:http://www.hammernutrition.com/downloads/European_Pad_Placements.pdf) and see if you can provide any relief by running Active Recovery or Massage. Increase the intensity on these programs to the point of slight discomfort, then back off slightly so the intensity is within your comfort level. If this does not penetrate deep enough to reach the Quadratus Lomborum, then traditional means of providing relief for this must be explored.
