Black specks in Recoverite
I've noticed in my past couple cans of Recoverite that there seem to be quite a lot of random black specks throughout the powder. The one I recently opened seems to have a little more than the previous one. I was wondering if this is normal and what these specks might actually be.
Is it still safe to take? It has sat on the shelf for a while a couple months but the expiration date is MAR2013 so I don't really think it's a spoilage issue.

Re: Black specks in Recoverite
Dear Brad,
The black flecks that periodically show up in the powdered products is maltodextrin that gets caught between metal parts in the manufacturing machinery, heats up, dries out, and some ends up in the finished product. There is a screen in place to catch these particles but some small particles still get through and some batches will have more than others. It's perfectly safe and if you taste them you'll notice they actually have a somewhat sweet taste. They shouldn't affect the flavor of the product.
Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.
Regards,
Levi
