Re-Using Hammer Gel?
First of all, many thanks for being a sponsor for the Wilderness 101! Having Hammer Gel available at the aid stations is great…no drop bags required.
It’s common for me to finish a long event with a partially full flask of Hammer Gel. I normally will finish off the flask about a week or so later during my next long training session. Is this safe or am I flirting with food poisoning?
Thanks,
Scott Fitzner

Re: Re-Using Hammer Gel?
Hello Scott -
No problem at all in reusing Hammer Gel that's still in the flask from a previous race or workout. What I would recommend is that you wash off the flask thoroughly, especially the nozzle, in hot water, wipe it off, then put it in the fridge... you'll be good to go.
Sincerely -
Steve
