Additional glutamine supplementation?

I train as a pro-level xc ski racer, and the springtime is predominantly strength training and low-intensity, high-volume running and cycling to rebuild aerobic base in preparation for the later summer when we'll add intensity and speedwork. I've been doing strength (weights, calisthentics/yoga-type work) 4x week in addition to 12-14 hours of running and hill-climbing. In addition to Recoverite after workouts, would folks suggest utilizing pure glutamine supplementation at other times during the day? I've read that it has been quite successful with burn victims, taken before bedtime to maximize muscle and tissue regeneration. Anyone have experience/thoughts on this?

i'm not a pro but i recover a lot better when i take 4500mg of glutamine along with my recoverite after hard or long (4+hrs) rides.
