PIC for nursing mom

Postby mangumc » Mon Jun 28, 2010 7:01 pm

Sorry this is not an endurance-related question, but I couldn't find the answer on the Hammer website. Are Premium Insurance Caps safe for nursing mom's? My daughter just delivered twins and we want her to be well fortified for the challenge of nursing two babies. If safe, is there a recommended dosage?

Hello Chris -

In the article "Hammer Nutrition Supplements During Pregnancy or Lactation?" at ... #pregnancy we suggest the use of Premium Insurance Caps at a dose of no more than 7 capsules per day (in divided doses).

The "Summary" portion of the article is very important...

Again, before taking or continuing to take any supplements, please consult with your physician. The reason we always recommend you check with your health care professional prior to starting a supplement program (and especially if you¹re pregnant, lactating, have any medical condition, or are on any medications) is simply because it is the responsible thing for any company to do. We always want to err on the cautious/ conservative side, which is why we defer to your doctor for final approval.

... so please have your daughter consult with her physician prior to using any supplement at this time.

Congratulations to your family!

Sincerely -
