SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

Job Description

Oversee and perform all duties related to successful supply chain management; from ordering of raw materials to packages going out to customers and everything in between, with an emphasis on efficiency and cost savings. This includes, but is not limited to all purchasing, forecasting and adjusting for seasonality and other variables, maintaining close and cooperative relationships with a few difficult vendors, managing inbound and outbound freight, and working to balance the costs of inventory on hand at three warehouse locations with the stock levels available for sale and more.

Tasks

  • Manage inventory costs versus stock on hand for 500+ items in three warehouse locations. Goal is to obtain 100% in stock without excessive overstock.
  • Use existing sale system to mine data / analyze information and forecast future inventory needs with multiple variables such as growth, seasonality, variable vendor lag times, etc.
  • Analyze purchase orders, receive purchase orders, track shipments, and update staff with expected delivery times.
  • Oversee monthly physical inventory counts and adjustments.
  • Update and maintain item information, costs and pricing.
  • Manage vendor relations through analytics and communication, maintaining a continual flow of email and phone communication with some very difficult and unresponsive vendors who need continual attention.
  • Oversee quality control.
  • Develop and implement purchasing instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Participate in development of specifications for products or services.
  • Understand project rollout obstacles in a nationwide retail environment.

Skills

  • Computer skills
    Must type efficiently and be very proficient with spreadsheet and database programs, windows, e-mail, etc.

    Convey information effectively both orally and written.

    Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Mathematics and Financial Aptitude
    Adept at using mathematics to solve problems. Must possess financial evaluation skills, which translate to how inventory affects the financial health of the company.

    Determine how money will be spent to get the work done, and subsequently account for these expenditures.
  • Judgment and Decision Making
    Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Time Management
    Balance multiple priorities and keep/maintain activities of subordinates.

Other Requirements to Include Education

  • Required Overall Experience - A minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge and experience.
  • Required Education - Four-year bachelor’s degree desirable, not required.

DEALER SERVICES AGENT / INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Job Purpose: Facilitate and expand the sales of Hammer Nutrition products through existing and new wholesale accounts. Your primary goal will be consulting with existing and new dealers to educate them about our product line and help them enjoy increased nutritional sales and profits through the supply of our products. You will need to be well versed regarding our unique features, benefits, and unmatched demand. Identify top sellers, expand product selection and depth for each account, and help dealers with in-store merchandising methods to meet customers needs and increase sales revenue. The successful candidate will have/acquire in-depth knowledge of our products, the competition, and the retail environment in which our dealers exist.

Job Duties:

  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Plan and organize daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Adjust sales presentation content by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying the existing and potential volume of dealers.
  • Use in-depth knowledge of the complete Hammer Nutrition product line to assist customers in selecting optimal volume/mix for their retail operations.
  • Inform management by submitting reports on activity and results, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Quickly resolve any and all customer issues by working directly with the customer, local representatives, Sales Manager, or other management team.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain records on area and customer sales.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years inside sales or retail sales experience
  • Consultative selling, including presentation, offer, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Ability to build, maintain, and manage solid business and client relationships
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to use MS Office; Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to make decisions in the best interests of the customer and Hammer Nutrition
  • Strong team player
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and driven
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities according to importance and urgency
  • Exceptional communication skills; confidence to communicate with a variety of customers and prospects; customer service background helpful
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
  • Flexible with an optimistic, customer-centric, can-do approach to problem solving
  • Previous sales experience in IBD, running, outdoor sports, or nutrition related industry preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of the endurance nutritional market
